德比大学（University of Derby)是一所充满活力与现代气息的高等教育机构，它位于英格兰中部，跨越三大主要城市。 位于Kedleston路的校区最大， 处于德比市中心外围，交通方便。距诺丁汉东米德兰国际机场仅30分钟车程，乘火车或汽车到伯明翰国际机场也只有约1小时。德比火车站建有便利的交通，2小时内即可通往主要城市如伦敦、诺丁汉、伯明翰、曼彻斯特、利兹等地。 享有盛誉的巴克斯顿新校区建于2005年9月，使用改建后的Devonshire皇家医院建筑，位于美丽的温泉镇最高地区。巴克斯顿离曼彻斯特国际机场不到1小时车程，乘铁路从曼彻斯特中心仅1小时的距离。

I have a strategic lead for: learning and teaching;quality enhancement;employer engagement.
My role incorporates responsibility for two faculties: Arts Design and Technology; and Education Health and Sciences and the departments for Learning Enhancement and Innovation and Marketing.
At the University of Derby we aim to provide a quality education for application ensuring that our students are equipped for the world of work through a diverse range of courses acknowledging the diverse needs and experience of our students.
It is my responsibility to ensure that our students' learning experience provides a range of opportunities to develop and enhance their skills and knowledge facilitating their entry to and/or progression in their careers.
My career in Higher Education has been focused upon the development of learning and teaching recognised in 1998 when I was appointed as the first Teaching Fellow at Teeside University. Previously I was the Dean of the School of Social Sciences and Law at Teeside University where I had worked for 23 years in previous roles including Deputy Dean of Health and Social Care and leading a University wide 2 year project 'Managing Diversity'. I started my career as a Secondary School teacher in Staffordshire where I originally completed my School education.
My research interests have primarily focused around Higher Education specifically around the student learning experience workforce development and e-learning.
