出国前在TIGTAG学了不少东西,以下是我个人的签证经历,希望对各位有帮助。
Visa experience
I think most of you already found many useful messages about getting in lines waiting for the vo. I just want to talk about myself. I ordered No.18 on Friday, May 31, 2002. The night before was terrible, could not fall in asleep, just turning here and there, anyway, got up on 6:00am, and got fresh up then call a taxi to the usa embassy, reached there at 7:00am, waiting in the room near the entrance. You do not have to stand in the line because you will have enough time to ‘enjoy’ waiting in the line in the visa hall. Now you only wait and rest, coz it doesn’t count whether you stand before the line or at the end of the line, you finally can get in. But if you want to select a vo blindly, you have to be the first 100 people, otherwise when the vo already sit behind the windows, you have to stand in the line where the security assign you. Remember, in Guanghzou, the glassboy is absolutely a killer, if you guys don’t want to be the victim, come early and try to select a window before it is open, then at least you will have much less chance to face the glassboy. Ok, here is the interview:
V: morning! (Smile to me)
M: morning (Smile but did not look at him, busy finding all the documents).
V: (impatient) give me your passport and receipt……
M: (rush up)….ok, here it is…( hand over 156, I-20, passport, receipt) ..and do you need my resume?
V (impatient, waving his hand) , no.
M: waiting..
V: so, where did you graduate?
M: @#%#@%^#^
V: (scratching rapidly) what major?
M: management
V: what is management? (Scratching rapidly on my 156..)
M: well, management is management, you know,,,,,,,management can be anything….and…(interrupted)
V: ok, why do you want to go to America?
M: study
V: which school?
M: !@#$#$^#$&^
V: where do you find this school and why you choose this school?
M: on the internet..
V: which internet? (interesting, he should ask which website…ha, maybe ,,anyway, I do not understand his question,,thinking,,,,,,,,,are there many Internet?)
M: pardon?
V:….W h I c h I n t e r n e t ?(slowly?)
M: (finally got it) ok, Usnews..
V: two Internet…and the other?
M: …(thinking, on the top of my tongue)…….oh, peterson’s
V: what? (I repeated) ya, Peterson’s (satisfied)
V: so why you choose this school?
M: ok, coz this school ranks second in the field I am gonna study.
V: then which one is the top?
M: (frankly) I do not know…
V: why?
M: you know, it is very difficult to find my study field in the USA, and no Website gives ranking instruction, then what to do?
V: ya, well….(see the I-20), what is GA? (Graduate assistantship?)
M: ok, it is a kind of award…(interrupted)
V: show me the admission letter,
M: I gave him several paper,,
V: check the file …..what is the name of the business school?
M: (interesting, what a question..ha) !#$@%#@$%
V: return to me. The admission letter. ok….show me your salary certificate:
M: (handed over)….my last salary is rmb5000.00 (as the certificate of income and recommendation letter of my president are clipped in the same file clip, the vo also see the recommendation letter)
V: (pointed to the rec. letter) show me that one…
M: (hand over)…
V: (receiving) who is..
M: president of this company…
V: he invites you come back to this company? (Searching on the paper, seeing attached English translation, finished reading the translation in 30 seconds and returned to me)
V: show me your bank statement….
M: ok, wait…..(Searching in my bags….and did not looked at him in the following conversation.)
V: (seeing my I-20) how come you have so much money while your salary is only 5000 one month.
M: (unclear) pardon? (Still searching my bank statement)
V: (in Chinese, repeated the question…)
M: ok, (calculating…) in the last three years…..total income….(interrupted and asked the same question…….a little nervous…)..ok. (almost shout…and stop searching my bank statement and looked at him ha ha..) part-time job, as you know, I have so wide contact with suppliers and buyers….I have so many chances to help my cousin sister, she own a factory , I can help her to find customers …..(I spoke very fast and want to express as much as I can , but was interrupted)
V: ok…give me a reason that you will come back to china.
M: MBAs are very difficult to find a job in the USA, and my field is the worst one. (Do you want to see the supporting documents?)
V: (waving his hand) why?
M: (still searching bank statement, did not look up) well, I do not know, maybe the economy is not so good. And, (finally, I found the bank statement, as you know, on the I-20, my own fund is only usd5000, other source is from my cousin sister usd15000, but actually, I have prepared my bank statement of usd15000, I want to explain to him), do you still need these? V: (stretched out his big hand to the window, I gave him the bank statement)….(God, he only looked at them for two second…..)
M: (seriously) I have something to say on my financial source….(interrupted)
V: come here at 3:00pm to pick up your passport at window 3…(as I am still worrying over the financial status….his interruption really shocked me, but I heard something about 3….pick up….hahah…God, I passed).
M: (now I think at that time I looked extremely shocked and astonished) ok, thank you…..
V: returned all documents….
M: (still unbelievable, seeing he returned all document very fast, just want to make it sure that he took the right documents) are you sure all documents no problem?
V: (smile) ya,….
M: (thankful) thank you!

Keep smiling as soon as he can see you in the line….
