Dear Sir/Madam,
(这一段自我介绍并简单说明父母何时要来、准备待多久)
This is Wuji Zhang from USA. Currently, I am working at Asian Kungfu Academy, San Francisco, CA. I would like to invite my mum and dad to visit my wife and me for three months from December 2008. By this letter, I intend to explain my background and their travel plan in USA.
(这段是自己来美国的经历,说明自己在美国的身份是合法的)
In January, 2006, accompanied by my wife, Min Zhao, I went to Harvard University in Cambridge, MA, where I was as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in H-1B status and participated in research projects in the area of Taichi and Qigong. After successfully accomplishing all the projects in summer 2007, I accepted a job offer from Asian Kungfu Academy in San Francisco, CA, where I am now working as a certificated senior Taichi coach in the Wudang Taichi Sector to conduct classes of Taichi Quan, Tachi Sword and Push-hand. My wife also got a Kungfu teacher position at that academy. So far, we both have been accustomed to new work environments and been enjoying our life in the Bay Area.
(这段介绍父母在国内的工作情况,以及来美国后的行程安排,说明他们是有钱的,是要来消费的)
However, it has been more than two years since my wife and I left China. We miss my mum and dad so much although we talk every week by telephone. We really look forward to seeing them in California's warm and beautiful Christmas and New Year holidays. Both my mum and dad have not yet retired and are working in Beijing. My mum, Susu Yin, is a vice manager of Tianying Co., Ltd.
My dad, Cuishan Zhang, has been working at Wudang Wushu Institute for more than 20 year. There, he is a vice president and responsible for daily administrative issues. Both my mum and dad love and enjoy their jobs. During the period from this December to next March, they will not have too many tasks to do, so they will be able to take a three-month vacation for a US trip. If my parents could get US visas, I will pay for their flight tickets and support all their travels and living expense in the US. My wife and I would like to travel with them during holidays to show them the impressive beauty and attractive cultures of the country. The places we plan to visit include Los Angels, San Diego, Las Vegas, and perhaps one or two eastern cities if time and weather allow. They would stay with us during 2009 Chinese New Year and Festival of Lanterns. In early March 2009, they will both go back to Beijing
,
China and start their work in 2009.
(这段突出父母与国内的纽带,说明他们一定要回去的)
Both my mum and dad are from big families. My grandpa, my mum's dad, is more than 80 years old and still healthy. Most time, he lives with my parents because of the convenient health care facilities of Beijing. During my parents' trip to the US, my grandpa would stay with one of my uncle in Hong Kong, and then he would go back to Beijing after my parent return.
My wife and I cannot wait to see them in California. We would very appreciate your kind help if their B-2 visa applications could be approved!
Sincerely yours,
Wuji Zhang
