Through group and individual conferences beginning in the eleventh grade, a college adviser guides students in selecting colleges. The School’s approach to college placement is thorough and systematic. Parents as well as students are involved. On the SAT, the middle 50 percent of critical reading scores was 520-640, the middle 50 percent of math scores was 530-650, and the middle 50 percent of writing scores was 570-670. The middle 50 percent of ACT scores was 24-30. The English, math, and science departments review material for the ACT, SAT, and SAT Subject Tests; other departments provide reviews for Subject Tests as needed.

Among a wide array of colleges and universities, Westover students from the last three graduating classes have attended Barnard, Boston College, Carnegie Mellon, Columbia, Connecticut College, Cornell, Dartmouth, Emory, Franklin and Marshall, Georgetown, Harvard, Howard, Johns Hopkins, Middlebury, Northwestern, Swarthmore, Tufts, University of Chicago, Vassar, and Wheaton.
